Jenni

Founder & Managing Director

Jenni is the creator and founder of Journey Counselling & Life Skills.

Jenni holds a Bachelor of Social Science, a Graduate Diploma in Counselling, a Diploma in Clinical Hypnotic Sciences, a Diploma in Community Services, and a Diploma in Business Management.

Jenni was recently voted a Finalist in the Local Business Person of the Year for 2022, 2023 & 2024.

She has a special focus on working with vulnerable people and advocating for them.

Jenni runs a person-centered and trauma-informed practice where every person who walks through the doors of Journey is the most important person in the world.

Jenni is very compassionate and empathetic with a particular interest in working with Domestic & Family Violence and child protection based issues.

Chris


Counsellor (Queanbeyan rooms)
Chris creates a space that immediately helps you feel comfortable and heard. Chris comes from a place of empathy and compassion for the people he works with and has the ability to validate your concerns with a nonjudgmental viewpoint.

Chris holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling and in particular enjoys working with young people in helping them see their true potential.

Bev

(Telehealth)
Counsellor

Bev has been a counsellor and hypnotherapist for the last 16 years and absolutely loves what she does! Bev has trained over 70 hypnotherapists and she is a supervisor in the hypnotherapy industry.

She loves to combine counselling with the deeper release work (when appropriate) to allow clients to really let go of the pain and trauma held in the cells.

Bev has a Psychology Degree with Honours and has a special interest in Family and Domestic Violence where she also sits on the board of DVAssist, an organisation providing support for people experiencing domestic violence in rural WA.

Bev is a big believer that we are not our story. Life has its ups and downs but is not what defines us, rather we are who we believe we are inside.

Bev is available for telehealth counselling and hypnotherapy.

Sharon

Counsellor

Sharon is a seasoned professional with over two decades of experience working with individuals of all ages impacted by trauma or facing situational crises. Her expertise spans a wide range of areas, including mental health issues, intergenerational trauma, child protection, forensic mental health, offending behaviour, and child sexual abuse.

With a Master’s degree in Counselling, a Graduate Certificate in Child Protection, and a Bachelor’s degree in Health Science—Prehospital Care, Sharon brings a wealth of knowledge and a multidisciplinary approach to her practice.

Georgina

(Queanbeyan rooms)

Counsellor

Georgina has worked in forensic mental health at Canberra’s adult prison and in grief counseling. She has a particular focus on healing trauma, especially sexual abuse.

Gina holds a Master’s Degree in Counselling and two undergraduate degrees in humanities and science.

She believes that everyone should feel heard and never judged, and she works hard to create a safe space of trust and respect with all her clients.

Georgina is a mum of three teenagers, two crazy cats, and a happy dog. In her spare time, she enjoys reading, writing, and overseas travel.

Counsellor

Danny brings with him a wealth of experience and holds a Master’s in Social Work, a Bachelor’s in Social Science, and a Diploma in Health Science.  Danny‘s experience has been in the health sector in particular as a counsellor in the drug and alcohol field and mental health areas.

Danny understands the complex needs some people present with and his relaxed approach puts you at ease to help work through the challenges you may be facing.

Danny is always looking at situations through several lenses to help people manage their emotions and current situations.

Winsome

Winsome’s counselling has been inspired with ideas from Narrative Therapy and driven by curiosity.

Winsome’s long working life has been in the community sector having conversations with diverse groups of people about what matters to them and help find ways for them to bring the change they want in life.

Winsome has experience in many fields relating to her counselling practice and her happy persona provides comfort and a feeling of understanding from the minute you meet her!

Claire has a passion for helping clients reach their personal short and long-term goals through confidence building, social connection, and advocacy.

Claire is currently studying Psychology at the University of Southern Queensland and puts her love of chatting and being a practical help to people to very good use.  

Glenn 

Social Support Team

Glenn has been working as a support worker in Queanbeyan since 2007.

He has lived experience of mental illness and believes having fun has been a crucial part of his recovery.

Glenn enjoys getting people out and doing things they like. He is passionate about what he does and loves having a job where being friendly and helpful is such a big part of the role.

Anjali

Social Support Team

Anjali is no stranger to working in this field and she loves it!

She comes with her deep compassion and passion to improve outcomes for our clients.

Anjali’s balanced world view and lived experiences in many countries gives her a unique cultural lens. Her spirituality is honed in interests ranging from art therapy, animal welfare and meditative practices, while keeping a practical outlook.

Anjali sums up her attitude as ‘ always listening, always learning’.  

Jessica


Peer Mentor &Social Support Team

Jessica holds her Bachelor in Science of Psychology and takes her work in this field seriously.

Jessica is an energetic and passionate individual who loves meeting new people and helping those who need that extra support in everyday tasks!

Jessica is warm and welcoming and you can easily relax in her company!

Shelley

Social Support Team

Shelley is a bubbly, optimistic person.

She brings her hard-won experience parenting children with complex trauma, mental health issues, and autism to assist others in navigating government and hospital systems and build connections within their communities.

Shelley understands the challenges mental health has on daily life and she practices daily compassion and aims to share that compassion with others.


She enjoys assisting with paperwork, building social connections and being active with clients.

Rachel


Social Support Team

Rachel’s cheeky grin and zest for life are just some of the qualities she brings to Journey!

Rachel develops strong connections and she is always striving to help our clients achieve their goals and full potential. 

Rachel has the ability to help people feel special and valued which is another great quality she holds!

Rob


Social Support Team

Rob is a peer mentor for our male clients and also camera shy!. He has achieved great outcomes with our clients including practical tasks such as attending appointments, banking tasks and building/house maintenance tasks.

Rob is a compassionate person who understands that no two individuals are the same and we all have our own uniqueness, which he celebrates. He is affectionately referred to as “Uncle Rob” by his Journey Family.
